A Man and his space

A man's space is the entrance of a world that is like no other. You either get the typical guy with the strategically placed sports paraphernalia and the conveniently misplaced empty beer cans, or you get that place of cool. When you enter a "Man's" space, you should be greeted with his direct personality. Men are very strategic more than society thinks, so what is presented is a true depiction of what matters most in his personality.

So for my fellow brethren who are afraid to step into color, shapes, patterns and designs lets talk about how we can enhance your space with simplicity and create something a woman would always want to embrace.

Ground Confidence

Ground Confidence

When you can capture the confidence of self its exuded through all you do and say. Confidence is the foundation to style, is in your speech and the way you stroll across the earths canvas. My admiration for women's style is the vast components of accessorizing. the necklace, the clutch, the shoes and most importantly the hair. Be confident your style speaks for you....thank you for being today's Muse Esther Quek......

The MESSage Wall

I was commissioned to design a MESSage wall for company Mess in a Bottle. They are located in Baltimore, MD and they recently moved into a 1,200 sq. ft. space in the Clipper Mill area. The owner, Kalilah Wright, requested a wall of messages. The owner quickly fell in love with having a wall of script "handwritten" wording cladding the dry wall that entered the space. Her aesthetic, simple and chic with a mix of the brand colors, black, white and grays, added with a pop of color; the epitome of JDecorum's style. We explored several options to accomplish this look.

1. "Walls need love" wallpaper. This was one of the easiest options. Purchasing wall paper and applying them to the walls. The issue here was cost. The panels cost $48 for a 2' x 8' piece. This wall was 17' long and would cost over $2,000 to clad the area desired.

2. Hand painting the wall. We explored painting the wall cooper and having an artist hand write script wording all over the wall. The problem here was the time. We have a short time frame in which we had to renovate the space. This option would cost us about $1,000 but would take a lot more time.

3. I decided to tap into a local business, ABC Imaging, and have the three phrases printed on 3 x 17 inch sheets. Using the wallpaper method, after spraying the adhesive, we carefully lined up each sheet. This option was fast and once we got the hang of it, application was a breeze. You will need at least 2 people to hang if you have a long area that needs wall paper. We used photoshop to write the message and printed these panels and then applied it with spray glue. Each panel cost $15 and we spent $180 in prints. Grab some friends and make this a fun project to apply onto the wall.

What do you think? Did we nail it?
